Who is allowed to purchase IPO's? Do you have to be a big group such as a hedge fund, or do u need to be some kind of special group, or just filthy rich where it is only offered to you? The reason I ask, besides the fact that I am relatively new to this, is b/c I always hear of these IPO's, but when I try to purchase through tdameritrade, i am not allowed. Any input would be welcomed.
